It's August. I mean, it's March. But it feels like August. Hot. 

There were trailers to rent and tickets to buy from the government website. Didn't do any of that. No idea what I'm doing out here.

Caves are what you're looking for. KEEP THAT IN MIND.

Saw sign that said this is the darkest place in the US. Lots of astronomy jerk-offs love it. 

Limestone caves (Lehman) are very popular. They're busy, you need tickets, and rangers will be all over it.

Found a spot where I could see almost all of the 77,000 acres of the park. Love open spaces. 

But looking for small, cramped spaces. A nightmare. 

Keep talking to the camera. Seem sprightly. Not sick. MAKE SOMETHING OF YOURSELF.

Observed the pinyon-juniper woodland from a high ridge. Loved looking at the bush-heads. The dust flies like bees. 

Something moving down there. Hopefully not people.

Walked past a ranching exhibition. Some historical info about the pioneers. 

Metalwork, standing barns. 

Metal sculptures of horses, pigeons, cowboys. 

Saw an old windmill here too. No storage tank or sucker rod; it's just an ornament.

Made it back on the road. 

Nights here are terrifying. It really is dark. 

Thought I heard gunshots in the morning. It'd be great to encounter a COWBOY out here.

Saw an RV — thought they weren't allowed to camp here. 

I knocked on it. Nobody home.
